Heat pump meldcode not on the list: what now?

Is your heat pump missing from the ISDE notification code list? You can still apply for the subsidy. Here is what to include and what RVO checks.

Can't find your heat pump on RVO's notification code list? That does not necessarily mean you won't get a subsidy.

First: search again carefully

• Search on the exact model number from the quote or invoice, not just the brand name. For an outdoor unit paired with an indoor unit, the list sometimes shows the combination.
• Search our heat pump list by brand, type or meldcode, or browse by brand via all brands.
• Ask your installer: RVO advises having the meldcode put on the quote and the invoice [2].

Not on the list? You can still apply

According to RVO, you can apply without a meldcode too. You then include the heat pump's product description and technical documentation [1][3]. You also provide the usual details: model number and brand, invoice and proof of payment, installation date and the installation company's details [1].

Note: RVO then assesses for itself whether the heat pump meets the requirements. If it does not, your application is rejected and you get no subsidy [1][3]. So ideally, check before you buy that the model is on the list [1].

Why isn't a model on the list?

Possible reasons, based on RVO's requirements [4]:

• Air-to-air heat pump: not eligible [4][5].
• Energy label below A++: at least A++ has been required since 1 January 2024 [4].
• Not registered in EPREL: this is mandatory up to and including 70 kW thermal capacity [4].
• 70 kW or more: new heat pumps of 70 kW or more are no longer added to the list; a product description is required instead [4].
• Split system with a high-GWP refrigerant: from 2026, split air-to-water heat pumps with a refrigerant charge under 3 kg and a GWP above 750 are no longer eligible [1].
• New model: the list is updated monthly [4]. A manufacturer can submit a product for the list [4].
