ISDE heat pump subsidy 2026: how much do you get?
How much ISDE subsidy do you get in 2026 for a (hybrid) heat pump in the Netherlands? Amounts, conditions and the 24-month application window, checked against RVO.nl.
Updated on
With the ISDE (Investment Subsidy for Sustainable Energy and Energy Saving, Investeringssubsidie duurzame energie en energiebesparing), homeowners get money back on a (hybrid) heat pump. The amount depends on the type of heat pump you have installed. Below is what RVO says about it, as checked on 17 October 2026.
How much subsidy do you get?
- You always get at least €500 for a (hybrid) heat pump [1].
- The exact amount varies by model. RVO does not give a fixed amount per type: you will find an indicative amount for each heat pump on the heat pump notification code list (meldcodelijst warmtepompen) [1][3]. See also our guide How to look up a heat pump's meldcode.
- Look up your model or meldcode in our heat pump list, or browse all brands on the ISDE list.
- Doing several measures? Use RVO's ISDE calculation tool for an estimate of the total [1][2].
Exceptions in 2026
- Bought in 2024, installed in 2025 or 2026? A transitional arrangement applies: with proof of purchase in 2024 (for example an order confirmation or a digitally signed quote), you qualify for the higher 2024 subsidy amount [1].
- Second or subsequent air-to-water heat pump in 2026? You get a lower amount, because the calculation changed in 2026. This applies even if you already received a subsidy for the first one. If you installed that extra heat pump in 2024 or 2025 and apply in 2026, the old amounts apply [1].
- Split air-to-water heat pumps with a refrigerant charge under 3 kilograms and a refrigerant with a GWP above 750 are no longer eligible from 2026, because of EU rules [1].
Combining with insulation
Also insulating within 24 months? Then the subsidy for the insulation measure doubles. The 24 months run from when the previous measure was carried out [1][2].
Conditions
According to RVO [1][2][3]:
- You are an owner-occupier: you own the home and live in it yourself.
- The heat pump is new and used for space heating or hot water (a heat pump tumble dryer does not count).
- A building installation company carries out the entire installation; you may not install it yourself.
- The home was built before 1 January 2019, or the environmental permit was applied for before 1 July 2018.
- Air-to-air heat pumps are excluded; since 1 January 2024 a heat pump must have at least an A++ energy label.
Application deadline
You have the heat pump installed first and then apply for the subsidy, no later than 24 months after installation [1][2]. RVO aims to process an application within 8 weeks [2]. How it works in practice: How to apply for the ISDE subsidy: step by step.
Note: changes in 2027
RVO says the ISDE will change on a number of points from 1 January 2027. Check the current conditions on rvo.nl if your installation falls around the turn of the year [2].
