About DeadOrSupported and how we check support dates

Who runs this site

DeadOrSupported is a small, independent project run by CerberosTech. It is not affiliated with any manufacturer, carrier or retailer. There is no editorial team behind it: pages are compiled and checked from public sources, and the site is rebuilt automatically every day.

Where the data comes from

  • Manufacturer support policies and end-of-life pages (for example Apple security releases, Google Pixel update guarantees, Samsung's security update lists, Microsoft lifecycle pages and Google's Chromebook Auto Update policy).
  • Reputable tech press, used when a manufacturer has not published a date.
  • Each device page and article links to the sources it is based on.

How dates are checked

  • A support date is only stated as fact when a manufacturer source confirms it. When a date is an estimate based on a published policy or track record, the page says so.
  • Articles show an "Updated" date for the last time the content was reviewed or changed in substance.
  • Support policies change. Always check the linked source before you make a buying decision, and send a tip if something is out of date.

Affiliate links

Some pages contain affiliate links, for example to bol.com, and the site sells a digital checklist via Gumroad. If you buy through an affiliate link we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This never changes a support date or verdict. See the disclosure page for details.
