Status summary
Ending soon
Yes, for now, but support ends soon.
Sony ends network services on dozens of older models on 17 Nov 2026: Netflix, Prime Video, Spotify, Google Cast, Pandora, Slacker and Vudu stop working. Affected include BDP-S series Blu-ray players, BDV home theaters, HT-CT790/HT-NT5/HT-ST5000 soundbars, STR-DN/STR-DA receivers and SRS-X7/SA-NS speakers. Disc playback and inputs keep working. What it means
It still gets updates for now, but the end is close. After support ends, new security problems will not be fixed, and online features can stop working.
What to do
- Install every update it still gets.
- Start planning a replacement now, before support ends.
- Avoid buying one second-hand.
